GDPR Policy

This GDPR Policy supplements the Privacy Policy for people whose personal data is protected by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, the United Kingdom GDPR, or related law. It applies only to the extent that the relevant law applies to Pattern Crochet and the processing described here.

Who to contact

The website operator uses Pattern Crochet as the public name for this crochet article blog. Questions and privacy-rights requests may be sent to hello@patterncrochet.net. Include enough information to identify the request and the relevant interaction, but do not send identity documents or other sensitive information unless specifically and securely requested.

Depending on how you use the website, relevant data may include:

• contact information and message content that you choose to send by email; and

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, processing may be based on:

• legitimate interests in delivering, securing, debugging, and improving a public website, balanced against visitor rights;

• consent for optional analytics, advertising storage, or personalized advertising where consent is required; and
• compliance with legal obligations or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

The specific basis depends on the activity and applicable law. Consent may be refused or withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Recipients and service providers

Data may be processed by providers that help deliver and secure the website, route and receive email, supply analytics, or serve advertising. Cloudflare supports website delivery and security. Google and identified advertising partners may process data if Google services or advertising are enabled. Data may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and security, or address a legal claim.

Providers may process information in countries other than the visitor’s country. Where European transfer rules apply, the responsible parties must use an available lawful transfer mechanism. Provider privacy notices describe their own processing and transfer arrangements.

Retention

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, website security, dispute handling, or a legal obligation. Preference information may remain until it expires, is changed, or is cleared in the browser. Email correspondence may be retained while a request is handled and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for records or legal claims. Third-party providers apply their own documented retention periods.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may have rights to:

• receive information about processing and obtain access to personal data;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure or restriction;
• object to certain processing;
• receive portable data where the portability right applies;
• withdraw consent at any time; and
• complain to an applicable data protection supervisory authority.

Rights are not absolute. We may request information reasonably needed to verify identity and authority. A valid request will be addressed without undue delay and, where the GDPR timing rule applies, ordinarily within one month, subject to lawful extensions and exceptions.

Advertising and consent choices

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google requires legally valid consent and a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the current IAB Transparency and Consent Framework when personalized AdSense advertising is served. A privacy page does not replace that technical consent requirement.
